Re: Mia,

I have blogged on this topic before, in my Universe blog, of how evolution fits very neatly with Genesis, as soon as one drops the idea that the words describe a literal happening.  It is, of course, no more literal than the 7 days of Creation!  In a myth, metaphor is the magic that makes a concept come to life, that expands consciousness, even spirituality, and also strengthens the bond between the physical and the spiritual world. I wish more people understood this, and would move beyond the notion of The Word having to be literal.  I also am a firm believer in evolution, scientific method, and spiritual reality.

Thanks for your comment!

Paradise is over-rated

As a firm believer of evolution, this is a tough one for me to comment on (at least objectively...).  Putting aside the hows and whys of our innate intelligence and curiosity, I whole-heartedly agree that, as humans, we thrive on problem solving - a life of constant perfection would be horribly dull!

No like Kabu she wamts a garden with Gnomes mooching around. I want mine free of blackfly,

I expect if Eve was standing down in my garden she would be complaining about the size of Adam's rib. Interesting blog though.

I have often wondered about the story of Adam and Eve, and the kiss of Judas...It was all a set up, it had to happen as it was planned.

Unfortunately, it seems that some humans create more problems than can be solved. I like a challenge every once in a while too, but I like contentment even more . . .

Re: Kabu,

Another friend of mine reminded me about the Eloi, the frail, sweet little creatures in their Eden, that HG Wells wrote about in THE TIME MACHINE. They were gentle, sweet, and livestock for the Morlocks.

And thanks for your appreciation, I appreciate it a lot!

Re: Pat,

Days... weeks... but sooner or later, we want the fray!

Paradise

I agree with your analogy of why Adam and Eve left the Garden of Eden.

you do write wonderful Posts. If our World was perfect we would lie around in depression and boredom so it wouldn't be perfect anyway. i remember a friend saying that when he reaches heaven he wants to spend thousands of years just worshiping God. Maybe he is right maybe I will want that too but in my human form, it sounds just boring.

There are days, Ciel, when Eden would be just the ticket...

I feel that human beings need problems as well.

Re: Adnohr,

If we did, I bet we wouldn't be happy.  Human beings are not born to be sheep.

You may be right, unfortunately. We can't leave well enough alone...
