I could never go to one of those sites to find someone! I like to meet people face to face because I want to know that the one I am talking to is indeed what they say they are! sam

Acceptance is an illusion to me for it is something I never had. I learned not to seek it. For me it meant doing too much to please others who always demanded more than I was willing or capable of giving. With strangers or guests it meant doing repeatedly and forever for them as a guest. So, I just deal with people as they are and tell them what I must. This angers but at least I am okay.

I've never heard of the show, but it sounds interesting - I'll have to check it out! Hubby and I met online, and my best friend also met her husband on the Internet. I think there's a lot of danger lurking in those dating sites though, and was cautious when it came to setting up "real life" meetings.

I read so many disasterous happenings from meeting on the Internet....I would not advise any one to meet someone without at least bringing a couple of friends....Wiley and I met here I know, what happened is for us both, a miracle.

I guess those that arent happy with themselves feel more comfortable doing so on the net and believing the tales some people tell them

My hubby and I were divorced after 30 years of married life and then he spent another ten years trying to get me to remarry him. Finally at around age 60, he found a woman on the internet, courted her there, and ended up moving to Florida where she lived and married her. They lived very close to my Florida son and his family for 15 years before he died. In my opinion she was a very good wife for him. She had a lot of the same qualities as his mother. LOL

I think many people might be better off trying to find acceptance from another in person, not over the internet. Not necessarily a mate or partner, but even just a new friend. Is social mingling acceptable anymore . . . ?
