Good point Lion, can't seem to get a feather mattress these days.

I hope the back ache doesn't linger, as a frequent sufferer I can recommend a good orhopaedic mattress and a decent pillow - they seem to do more than any drug from the Dr

Get plenty of fatty bacon down you. You made it that was the main thing.

Re: Ciel

Yes Ciel, the poem was only a joke, some folk obtain real happiness in later life having learned to give and take the hard way. I have also seen some real old miseries. made so by inertia and the bond of financial commitments.

Re: LLM

I do read you but I thought you were in pain and did not want the bother. Don't, worry I understand.

Re: Jimmy

Well they might not seem big to you Jimmy but I am only a little dwarf. Yes there is a bit of greenfly on the lettuce but I swill that off,  better than DDT. I did know a chap who sprayed his cabbages with tar oil , his wife was always complaining when he brought one in for her to cook.

Yes I do visit the neighbours sometimes Pat , but not to be a nuisance although they are always pleased to see me. I think?.

Re: Adnohr

I know Adnohr I just give once a year now and the demands have slowed. We used to buy scallops they were fried with the fish and chips I think they must have been mashed potato too much fat in those these days. Good old days, if you were profitable.

Yes a good idea, one can get carried away and forget when one last contributed if one has six.

Re:Taps

Well it is getting started Taps as you know, I think it might be boring as I don't live a very exciting life these days, well I go to the doctor sometimes and try to make jokes.

Re:

I wonder why folk run away when they see me hobbling up the road. Sold all but two bunches for 1-50 and the two last at 2pounds the bundle. A bad place for flowers as everybody is trying to get something for nothing. Like I do.

Since I moved into my grandmother's house about three years ago, I am amazed at all the charities she donated to. I don't know how she kept track of them all...An interesting theme with today's poem.

Your poem is telling a bit of truth in an amusing way - enjoyed it! I also hope you are checking out the charities before giving. It seems we have been keeping a few administrators in luxury with the $$ meant for those in need. (Yes - in answer to your question, I sold chips. Quebekers love them, which is maybe why they are called French Fries here, or in Quebecois, they are called frites.)

It's always like a visit with a neighbor to read you.

What a pleasant morning, but I hope your backache is long gone.

Sounds like a fairly busy morning! And hey, that honey on lettuce sounds good! I'll have to try it. And just how big were those bananas that you could only manage to eat just one? Ramble on . . .

I enjoyed the ramble through your day.
