I hope the back ache doesn't linger, as a frequent sufferer I can recommend a good orhopaedic mattress and a decent pillow - they seem to do more than any drug from the Dr

Re: Ciel
Yes Ciel, the poem was only a joke, some folk obtain real happiness in later life having learned to give and take the hard way. I have also seen some real old miseries. made so by inertia and the bond of financial commitments.

Re: Jimmy
Well they might not seem big to you Jimmy but I am only a little dwarf. Yes there is a bit of greenfly on the lettuce but I swill that off, better than DDT. I did know a chap who sprayed his cabbages with tar oil , his wife was always complaining when he brought one in for her to cook.

Re: Adnohr
I know Adnohr I just give once a year now and the demands have slowed. We used to buy scallops they were fried with the fish and chips I think they must have been mashed potato too much fat in those these days. Good old days, if you were profitable.

Re:
I wonder why folk run away when they see me hobbling up the road. Sold all but two bunches for 1-50 and the two last at 2pounds the bundle. A bad place for flowers as everybody is trying to get something for nothing. Like I do.

Since I moved into my grandmother's house about three years ago, I am amazed at all the charities she donated to. I don't know how she kept track of them all...An interesting theme with today's poem.

Your poem is telling a bit of truth in an amusing way - enjoyed it! I also hope you are checking out the charities before giving. It seems we have been keeping a few administrators in luxury with the $$ meant for those in need. (Yes - in answer to your question, I sold chips. Quebekers love them, which is maybe why they are called French Fries here, or in Quebecois, they are called frites.)
