There will always be that segment of society that preys on the unfortunate circumstances of others! It makes no sense but it's a reality! sam

It's heartwarming to hear stories like this, about communities coming together to support and console each other during tragic times - it's just too bad that it takes such a tragedy to bring people together!
Stand strong as a community, and those WBC idiots won't stand a chance.

I really dislike those guys, I read somewhere that they are really just a crazy family, only a church by name and for the tax benefits. Now when the go to the military funeral there is a motor cycle club that comes and keeps them away from the families.

darlin' I feel real pain in your writing and my heart and prayers have been sent all yesterday and today but it is really really difficult to live through such pain as you are surrounded by. And no, you don't need such crackpots to make the pain worse.

This is a horrible tragedy many of us here in our town are keeping their families in our prayers. I think this group of horrific people from the church you speak of may be there they are not Christians. I saw recently where Christian Bikers rode around them until they could not get close enough to talk about the funeral. I hope the bikers do this again if it is needed, I believe they will. I know nothing of the bad charities I do know that one charity gives every penny received to the work of charity, they are the first on the scene almost every time all over the world. They rebuilt a whole village in China after a volcano. This is Operation Blessing they have sent whole kitchens and in one State side place delivered over a million pounds of food. Also Salvation Army does wonderful work all over the world. I don't see how anyone can be wise enough, good enough or powerful enough to judge all those under a specific category such as churches and charities. In my experience charities work seven days a week for those in need, not just when there is a disaster. I don't have to read about this, I see it almost every day.

These various tragedies have a tendency to bring out the best . . . and the worst . . . in a lot of people. While huge groups rally around those in need and those afflicted most, you have others who will take full advantage of the situation for their own personal gains ( and greed ). Let's hope that the "good" people outshine, and outnumber, the "evil" ones . . .
