Re: Mia,
Even editors need editors. Sometimes, the brain and fingers type out a wrong word even though the mind was thinking of the correct one. And everyone messes up with commas now and then. I have a friend who simply can't internalize that rule about the comma before or after the name or designation of the person being addressed.

Re: TAPS,
We do tend to write differently when we are writing conversationally, anyhow, caring less about forms and rules, than if we are writing something less casual.

Re: Pat,
I have also heard that phrase, peculiar to Australia, to describe a guy who's a lousy date. ("Shoots" being a euphemism also peculiar to Australia, so I'm told.)

I LOVE this!!
Poor grammar drives me crazy. I am forever correcting people who can't figure out the difference between words like there, they're and their, too and to (and sometimes two, which is so stupid it actually give me headaches). The list goes on, of course.
I've been know to abuse the comma though, so can't say much about that...there's a saying about glass houses and stones that would be appropriate here!

I must admit that I am quick to notice when others use words wrongly, or mispunctuate, but, on the other hand, I often make those same mistakes myself when not paying proper attention.

I loved this one. Especially the bit about commas.
I believe I tend to use too many of them. Title of a grammar book, with a picture of a lovely Panda bear on the cover. "Eats, Shoots and Leaves."

I almost forgot one of the biggest, most prevalent of errors
so it has been edited into the post.

Re: Adnohr,
I am thinking of how many things people believe that just ain't so.... and they will cling to it, even so, because it's comfortable like old jeans. Or because they were told by someone they believed, when they were very young.
