Too far
Like you, I wasn't at all bothered by the news that the American government was "spying" on it's citizens. But this is going too far! If Obama keeps this up, America is going to lose the few precious allies it has left (and the US is not in a position to be making enemies right now...).

It has always been happening - it's just that with our new rapid technology and so many reporters chasing these kind of stories we are hearing about it now....instead of finding the spies and/or stoolies washed up dead (and silent, of course) on a shore somewhere.

This has gone far beyond the scope of the Patriot act, which I never thought was a good bill, or Constitutional...Those who would sell their freedom for security deserve neither...It was Franklin who said that...If we go back to the founders words and wisdom we find the answers. And after all, it is not like all countries don't do the same, their leaders need to look good to their people.

It's true, I thought Obama would be a man of his word. I believed in him. I was wrong. He is weak and disconnected from some very important issues like, health care costs, and social security, job creation, the rising costs of student loans. I am disappointed in him.

WOW! I see you got Yellowrose's ire by picking on her man in the W. H.! I tend to think the Amateur is an amateur and he will be noted only for the street named after in Africa at the end of the day! The rest of his notoriety will far less flattering! sam

Traitor defined, a person who is guilty of treason or treachery, in betraying friends, country, a cause or trust, etc. And yes he did betray the NSA. He was employed with them and signed a contract of trust to them. He is not the first or last whistle blower and I'm sure will eventually be prosecuted. This subject is old news. It's called PRISM now.. and has been called other names through the years, going back to the 2000, that I know of.
The smearing and spitting accross the aisle by policy makers with selfish interests at heart it seems will always be around. Wasted time and money spent on what? People are fed up. Myself included. All I know is right now in America big crooked "to big to fail banks, investors and corrupt politicians and lobbyists are in charge of the American government. And I know there are still some reasonable, morally sound people in government who are there working for equality for all american people. I'll pray for them.
And yes I agree it is sad to learn that spying on our allies is happening too. In my opinion it doesn't matter who is the residing President.. past, present or future. PEACEFUL AVENUES WOULD BE BETTER SERVED. But that seems only a dream to me. I'll just be grateful I still have a forum where I can share my view. TY
