Re:
That's probably true, sam. I know that, since my running days are probably over, I would be smiling at the finish line just to be able to stop running, regardless of what place I finished in . . .

I never thought about it before but the runner never smiles while the race is on! sam

Re:
See, mariss? As sardonic as that title may sound, it doesn't seem to be that far from the truth when it comes to certain unscrupulous business-types. At least it's honest, following that "dog eat dog" mentality . . .

The first one is exactly what happened to me several times trying to start a home business, but it was presented under euphemisms that seem like they are on your team and are out to give you a start. I suppose it does for a few more business savvy people,
, but not the majority.

I'm not so sure, yellowrose. However, with the way certain "gullible consumers" act these days, it just may sell after all . . .

Re:
That's very true, TAPS. That's why we don't have secretaries anymore; we now have administrative assistants. Everyone seems to want things to sound more important than they really are . . .

That's original, I'm sure everyone's running to the store to buy it now.

I believe it, mariss! And I'm sure that, if it were possible to calculate such statistics concerning "bad judgement," those numbers would probably be off the charts too. Glad I was able to start your week off with some smiles . . .

I do look forward to these - a great way to start the week! I particularly liked the bit about bad judgment, which reminded me of a favourite old statistic:
Every 5 minutes, someone in an aerobics class pulls a hamstring.

Re:
Glad to hear it, adnohr. And hey, Monday, Tuesday . . . it really doesn't matter. It's still technically the beginning of the week, and as long as you start the week with at least some smiles . . .

Re:
Good question, Utah. But I have a feeling one of two things may have happened. Either that information is highly classified and remains hidden away somewhere, or else the "volunteer" committed suicide a long time ago, and their identity will forever remain a secret. We may never know . . .

Yours too, MsJudy? A lot of people seemed to have liked that particular one. I guess, not only was it somewhat humorous, but was food for thought as well. Then again, maybe you'd rather not think about it any further . . .

I hate to say it, Naut, but if that one has got you wondering too, you may have too much time on your hands! It might be better to simply let such thoughts go . . .

Re: Jimmy...
Probably, Rumor. It's more than likely the pain of wandering down a runway or standing in front of a white wall knowing that very, very few people can afford or will ever wear some of the clothing they're modeling. Now that's pain . . .

Jimmy...
That's true about most runners not smiling...this is coming from a former runner..its hard to run when you're in pain.
..
Another group that for the most part don't smile are fashion models, both female and male...are they in pain, too??.
