I have four cats right now and each is different and yes one of them goes and hides when strangers come over, one of them will only sit on my lap, one is old and deaf and the other one is crazy...She is my wifes cat. I think in your case you have a cat that finds you her special somebody...This makes you a very special person indeed.

Well she obviously does not like strangers :-) I know people like that loll... starting with my own husband that now, after getting old, will not be around people he does not know. Not a good thing when I am the total opposite but what can I do and more important :-) what can YOU do... it is what it is and if she wants to hide in your room when others come calling, cats have a way to doing whatever they want whenever they want loll... Sassy is just like my Frangipani was...they are born neurotic and that's that!!!! Franni was so special and I still miss her and your Sassy always reminds me...You can win the odd battle but she will win the war. LOL....Oh yes Graysome is different but just as difficult!!

I don't think there's any actual mental illness involved. It's just a cat being a cat! Most are possessive of both their homestead and their owners, and don't like to share them with others, be they other animals or humans! She'll acclimate eventually . . .
