LOL. Those "tombstones" are air-conditioning units on top of a three-story, six-unit apartment building. I had my camera pointed upwards.

I agree with Naut. Atmospheric layers and cloud layers ( as your pic shows ) are two different things, although they are somewhat intertwined. What you have there seems to be a storm front on top of a storm front on top of a storm front! I'd stay inside too . . .

Good spotting Taps can't say I have ever seen layers like that. Just out of curiosity what are the tombstones doing in the bottom right hand corner.

I don't know if it has much to do with the levels of the atmosphere, but it looks really great (and a bit threatening) either way! Hope you're managing to stay dry down there.

Neat photo! Though I don't think these cloud layers are identical to the atmospheric layers you mentioned...Aside from that, we too have had a very wet and unsettled spring and summer so far...

That's a very clear photo, and this year we've seen so many
different cloud formations that a few years ago would have been rare. This spring and early summer has made me nostalgic for last year's drought.

i remember when parfeits were all the thing. Tall glasscontainers and spoon
