I'd never heard of the book

A bit before my time, I suppose, and not a subject matter I would be looking for in the first place. I read the synopsis though, and couldn't help but wonder how it would stack up against something like the Fifty Shades series. I haven't read them yet, but plan to eventually.

I knew a boy named Oakley, and a girl named Odetta. I had a student last season named Ocean, and felt very sorry for her...

Your book was probably more lucid than the one banned here Pat. it was called 'Getting

Married.' It was thought to have one or two rather intimate suggestions. I looked in the book about a year ago, but could not see them. So I sent it to Else in Texas and she said her hubby was going to put it in the Hospitable library.

Pat

I too remember The Story of O, one of the banned books at the time, and not very good! So was D. H. Lawrence's Lady Chatterley's Lover, a 'real' and far better book...

I knew two Olivers--my husband and my father-in-law.  But, they both hated the name so they went by their second names (husband Bob and FIL Sylvester).  Personally, I would take Oliver over Sylvester any day.  I would have named my first son Mark Oliver to carry on the tradition, but hubby wouldn't have it.

Ah... I remember The Story of O...

But... no Olivers, Oscars, Orwells, or random Irishmen...?
