well I have a cooler and I had it on at 10am when the temperature hit 83, now at 11 it is 91 and on its way up, but since we are in the mountains it cools down nicely at night

our A/C is on...our weather may not be quite as bad as yours but it is unpleasantly humid and Wiley not well enough to suffer. I like your Son was out in the garden though today. things to tend to, a bit more grass to be dug up...about 3 ft square and I was puffing and perspiring and oh that cool shower when I came inside!!

Re: Nautikos
Well, I must say! I prefer the strange quality of cooled air to Midwest heat and humidity, and I really like the strange quality of some people who choose to be hot instead of cooled air.

We have been getting some steamy weather as well in Maryland...My dad knew a woman in her eighties some years ago who would go into her vehicle when it was hot out. She really liked the heat.

Well, what can I say! I prefer the heat to the strange quality a/c imparts to the air - so we go without it altogether...

Down here we have the ac on most of the year... perhaps a couple of weeks around late January or February we can give it a rest but most people just leave it on and just get some extra blankets... Today we were 90 degrees and quite humid. The pool water felt like a jacuzzi when I did my morning laps...and now I bet it would feel like a soup after being all day under the sun. Did you know that the temperature they tell you there is outside is measured in the shade?? Be well Taps and stay cool :-) xoxoxo

TAPS...
Toughing it out is all well and good, but when its 90F and humid and he doesn't turn his a/c on, why even bother having the unit available? I often wonder about pre A/C days and how we managed with fans...all they did was blow the hot air from one room to the next, but they were better than nothing.

Hush Taps we only have one fan, but could do with the heater on tonight again . I don't think many have air conditioning here, I shall have to ask around, where's my fleece jacket.

I used to tough it out, keep on keepin' on even if it was 95 degrees.
Then I passed out in the middle of our library volunteers bake sale one night during the band concert, had to get a ride home courtesy of the EMTs. So now I wimp out a bit, and stay in the cooler range. But your son's younger and tougher, and I can see his point. :)
