Just like in the Miranda rights WHAT YOU SAY, CAN AND WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU. Responsible speech and writing is required. People twist words, take them out of context and people in leadership, families, require and demand what is IN HOUSE OR INSIDE THE CIRCLE STAYS INSIDE with no discussion.

I have read about such incidences before, and it really doesn't make any sense. I mean, if you were on a company computer where someone could easily read or intercept such messages, that's one thing. But on your own computer? And to get fired over it? No, there is no freedom of speech anymore, and people had better get used to the idea. Assume that someone is watching and reading you! If you've never read the book 1984, you definitely wouldn't want to read it now . . .

One really has to be careful what they put on FB and if you twitter Utube or whatever. There doesn't seem to be any real true freedom left...I agree. That is why my FB page is so boring. LOL.

Its not fair to be fired for expressing an opinion as long as that opinion is not offensive to whoever is doing the firing.  For example... I would not want to have an employee of mine declare some antisemitic remark in his or her FB page and then come and have lunch with me... As a boss I guess I would like to think I have the right to employ people I like and I would not like someone that thought in those terms.  On the other hand I respect that person's right to feel towards me whatever way he or she chooses... and I would defend her right to yell her views from the highest mountain... I just do not have to have her near me or as a member of my working environment.   Be well darling... xoxoxo

Being on FB IS essentially like being out in public.  Things or pictures posted and coments made are there for public viewing - it's the internet!  People need to exercise more caution or discretion.   Employers are even now using FB to check out potential applicants which begs the questions why would anyone post pics of a drunken party, etc.

Reading this reminds me that technology today is bringing out a lot of questions as it pertains to people's rights.
