I like the idea of the media... this would put shame on a banking system (the "to big to fail" banks) that in my opinion are corrupt and only interested in how much money they can recover no matter how long  it takes or what rules they break. I'm still holding positive, prayful thoughts for you. Your strength is an inspiration for me.

I like Kabu's suggestion too.

I like Kabu's suggestion

Especially the part about calling the media. No, seriously. The news people love a good "human interest" story, and they're always looking for a new angle and a new way to make "the man" (in your case, the banks and real estate board) look like thieves.  A little public shame might be just what these guys need!

I am sorry it got so rough.  They seem to just want more money from the deal.  I hope it can work out well for you, something you can manage.   Chin up, don't let the shady banking get to you, especially since your son's wedding is coming up.

This is all so beyond me.   Is there much of this sort of thing that goes on in the real estate business?

make yourself a picnic ...roll up a pillow and blanket and Park yourself in the real estate office and refuse to leave...call the TV stations and newspapers and everything else if they threaten to move you.....Yeah I did it. Parked myself in the bank until I got the Visa card I absolutely had to have.....I got it..they couldn't stand the embarrassment.

No, no, no! Whatever you do, don't start drinking now to cover your disappointment! With the way things have been going, something will happen when you're . . . let's say . . . a few sheets to the wind! Stay sober, just in case . . .

Very frustrating Sam, some little misery is holding it up for what  reason we do not know, I know these things do take time ,but this is ridiculous.

That stinks how the Idaho Reality commission is of no help...I am still praying to a speedy resolution for you.

It might be worth the price of a retainer to hire a shark lawyer.

First of all, your interest rate has jumped by more than 2% per year over the amount you originally signed up for - that alone amounts to considerably more than $2,000 over the course of a 30-year mortgage. An attorney might be able to force them to stick to the original terms. Barring that, s/he could back you out of the deal and make them compensate you for all the aggravation. Maybe you've been too eager to settle in and your patience has put you in a weak negotiating position. If you convince them you're moving out, putting your stuff in storage, and to stick the deal where the sun don't shine, they may stop trying to jerk you around.

sam

This may be a long shot - but I have found that I have been able to resolve difficult situations by making personal, face-to-face contact with people making the decisions! The trick is to actually meet them, of course, but it may be worth trying! I understand it may not be easy, especially since you're not driving, but Jes or somebody else should be able to help you...
