It's too bad you can't light the fire under him! I doubt the teachers were being kind but more matter of fact regarding his ability! It reminded me of my youngest son who was pegged to be an Olympic shooting. The minute the fun was gone he gave it not wanting to spend countless hours practicing! I wonder if your son might lose his zest for writing if it became a job. Still, a talented writer should share with the world, I know we are missing out on great things! sam

He'll probably wait until you are long gone and then write about you, when you can't have the joy of reading it. It will definitely be a best seller.

As so often, very thought-provoking! The sentence that really hit me was 'There's no here and now'; I'm thinking about it and shall definitely write about it, though not here and now...
