Yes, I do feel sad if a cat dies, but a dog is something else. If anyone knows a cat that would save someone from drowning I would like a kitten.

Oh I don't know Jay... Its true doggies pass on much too soon and they do leave a hole in out heartsbut cats that love you have a way of becoming just as dear... I guess its just that doggies love us just because and cats... well cats love us because they have chosen to and not just because  :-)  Does that make sense?  Lovely poem Be well dear friend...  xoxoxo

Thank you for the clarification in my post...I must say it did not sound

like you dear Jay. Your heart is as gentle as your kittens and doggies.

You are right about dogs passing away too soon and how different their passings are from those passings of cats.

My cats don't pass from my heart without a sound Jay.

Like dogs that I have loved, my cats continue to own that corner of my heart that was theirs while they were with me.

dead dogs sounds so ominous for this poem...why not dogs of yesteryear or something like that?
