It would seem that most should be happy for small, developing children.  Children will know how to throw tantrums without them.

On the face of it toys can have a happy look, children can learn of the harsh realities of life later as they gradually move on in life.

I'm with Jimmy on this one...Sometimes, in some childrens lives the smiles their toys and story books show them are all the smile they get.

How Sad

Initially, I thought it might be because most of the lego men today are actually fashioned after characters in stories (ie. Harry Potter, Batman, Indiana Jones...). But even if that's the case, is it really necessary for them to be so darn unhappy?!?

Even with her angry face, your grandbaby is adorable!

Geez, what's the point of that? I know there is honesty in emotions, and everyone has them, including children. But to display them on a toy? Confusing . . .

we really never got into legos so I dont know much about the way they changed.  if you put that pic of your grandbaby on FB it would probably go viral like the grumpy cat

Re: It might be a profit-making thing to create happier faces

Now that is a real good idea.  You seem to be a really down-to-earth person with quick answers to problems.

It might be a profit-making thing to create happier faces

on a stencil or sticker that can be layered over the grumps.

TAPS

I didn't even know that they had any faces! Goes to show you what I know, LOL. But I must say I find that change appalling...

Makes One Wonder

Both of my children had legos, I had no idea they had changed so much over the years.  I don't think for the better, why wouldn't they make them all happy faces is so sad!

TAPS

This is sad. Why are things getting more and more angry in all sorts of ways. She is such a doll-baby.

Reading this brings me back to when I was a little kid when I would play with legos...I did not know that the Lego Men faces have evolved.

we have been a Lego group as well but those faces do n ot impress me

can't we be happy ever. Books and stories and even toys now have to be tough and ugly. Yes, no wonder that beautiful baby is learning this is a nasty faced world.
