Some writers are masters at story twists...
My current favorite is Jeffrey Deaver who is a master at interweaving twists into his plotlines..

It may depend on your readers and what level of interest the characters create.

You may be surprised! Too many twists can confuse the average reader, and then the book gets tossed out the window . . .
