If he was, Against, then I would have to admit that he was actually doing a hell of a job! However, I don't think he had any mounted machine guns on it, so if the Red Baron showed up . . .

You're welcome, Mia. Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, animals are amazing sometimes. And even though she wasn't our dog, I'm sure that if the threat had been genuine, she would have aided us! Nice to have someone like that living across the street . . .

Thanks C C T. And if humans ever did have that same type of sense, we sure as hell need it now! I would love to be able to sense approaching danger long before it got to me . . .

Well, I can't speak for the dog, TAPS, but I'm sure my wife and I would have immediately dropped our yard tools and headed for the hills . . . !

Animals have such amazing senses. I'm glad the "threat" was nothing more than an advertising stunt. A great story, thanks for sharing

Well jimmy if it inspired you both to sign up for Met Life . I wonder if animals have some sense that we may have needed once . Good blog.

I wonder what the doggie would have done if it had landed and little green Met-Life men had come out.

Re: Jimmy...
Thanks, Rumor. We think so too. And you may be right. Lucy may have caught a glimpse of Snoopy, and in her mind, the threat wasn't an unusual flying machine, but rather a gigantic dog coming to terrorize the neighborhood! Either way, I think we may have been safe . . .

Thanks, Kabu. Yes, Lucy is a very good dog, and obviously an excellent watch dog! I'm glad she's on our side . . .

Re:
That's true, Annicita. Now, if it had been a giant vulture or an in-coming ICBM, then we would have really been in trouble! But at least we would have been duly warned . . .

Re:
Yeah, FSI, blimps are rare around here too. I guess that's why she was so freaked out by it! Glad you enjoyed the "build up." I don't think anyone was expecting a blimp! I know we weren't . . .

Re: Jimmy
Perhaps, Naut, you could explain to him that Lucy is a "chocolate" Lab and not a "black" Lab! I mean, there could be certain prejudices existing even in a dog's world, and maybe Ben could give Lucy the benefit of the doubt! Oh, to have such problems, right?

Re: jimmy
I'm sure she would have, jean, although that would have been an interesting sight indeed! Lucy the chocolate Lab vs. the Met Life blimp! Pay Preview could make a lot of money on that bout . . .

Re:
It really is sometimes, lustor. I mean, she sensed that stupid blimp long before my wife and I even heard it, never mind spotted it! Like I wrote, a great watchdog, and a terrific early-warning system . . .

Jimmy...
Isn't Met Life the company that uses the "Peanuts" characters in their commercials?? Maybe Lucy caught a glimpse of Snoopy and thought he was a threat...or maybe it was just the droning noise of the blimp...whatever, you have quite the guardian there.

I did not expect her reaction to have been to a blimp...You did a great job building the story up...As for when I last saw a blimp, it was probably at a Ravens game.

Very interesting! Ben is very observant, but it's hard to say how he would react to a blimp - we haven't seen one around here in quite a while. I know he's not bothered by the odd helicopter sometimes flying over at a fairly low altitude...But he might have reservations about Lucy! After his recent encounter with that black Lab, he's no too well disposed towards them...
