Well now, CCT - of you are going to miss your appointment with the doc, it may be better to keep it under your hat until you decide to go. I have found it heads off dire warnings that way.
My, my but the poet can sure muse a lot before attempting his seduction...or not attempting it. Kind of worries it to death.

Naut
No they do not it would not be considered hygienic. Of course the days of fish and chips ^6pence are over. My gran sent me to get some fish and chips during the war she had a coal yard . One had to take one's own paper, I paper she gave me must have been a bit coal dusty because the proprietor looked at it and threw it on the ground. When I told my Gran she swore like a trooper and a good job she could not get about much or she would have poked the fish, well enough of that.

Re: Pat
I expect your Mum knew the real greengage Pat as I told Taps they are a world apart from the commercial varieties sold today. I will post a photo it the tree bears this year..
The doc seems pretty amenable anyhow a bit vague to say come back in three months and expect the oldies to remember.

Yes I shall have to book an appointment next week Naut, I'll tell her I could not come earlier because I was not very well. What about the corned beef found years later and OK. Although did not an a famous expedition suffer from badly tinned food?

I haven't had any greengage jam since I was a kid. Hmmmm...I might just have to make some next time I see some of those plums at the market.

I have found with milk that at times it can be used past the expiration date. A little sip and you will know whether it is still good or not...I love your poems analyze the situation.

CCT
My obedience training hasn't been as successful as some people hoped, but I will always do what the doctors tell me - even the dumb ones have studied more medicine than I have. Of course, a problem arises if they have a difference of opinion, LOL! All that's by way of urging you to go hence and visit that doc of yours - knowing you, you probably picked a beautiful one!
And I like your poem, as always. Bu I must ask: do they still wrap fish and chips in old newspapers, as they did when I lived in London for a while, a while back?

be careful with that milk...the expiration date is arbitrary. I have used things way past their date...usually not a problem.

My mom used to talk about green gage (gauge?) and making jam
with them, and it seems to me that was a kind of plum, but it might have been a pear. In any case, the home made jellies and jams are such a treat I hope you managed to figure out a way to dispense the good stuff from the freezer bag. :) I hope the medical appointment brings great news and a reprieve from constant attention...
