I don't know where you are going with this, or what ol Ben sees, though I suspect Kabu is right in her assumption of a reflection in the glass, but I am reminded of an old television show called Topper where a St. Barnard drank wine, but I rather suspect you are about to wear yours.

Oh no I think benniekins doggie sees himself in the glass of red.
His reflection at least. he thinks that another dog is pointing at him.

I'm not seeing anything spooky
but I remember a horse-back ride in the woods where my horse ignored the coyote we saw 50 feet away, and then freaked out over a paper plate someone had nailed to a tree.
