LOL - I do believe a Shop Vac would be better than Ciel's solution!! My sons are much like yours - one is a thinker, the other a doer. They get along great!

I always say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! And if the car's running fine, don't change it! But you may want to reconsider parking it under a tree all day long! Besides the sap, I know a lot of birds with particularly good aim . . .

Interesting how brothers have such different strengths.

And yet, if yours are like mine, they grin at the same memories.

How devastating! I don't think I could handle something like that! I do hope it works out for him! sam

Imagining your poor son driving in a lake made me smile! He's lucky to have such a helpful little brother

I am so glad that you and your wee car are alright.

I pray for you and yours every day while the Tornados are ravaging the state. It's nice read you again too.

I'm quite familar with your son's problem! In my case, the motor operating the sunroof quit while it was half open - I was closing it becaause it started to rain! I was drenched by the time I got home...My current sled doesn't have a sunroof, and while I sometimes miss it, I've become wary of the things...

well he should help and not let his brother do all the work...that's only fair

A simple method wet a towel  and stick it in the water ,let the end hang down out of the car and the water will siphon out. Well it works most times.

I remember one of my mother's SUVs had a sunroof that was not sealed properly and water would come into it as well from the rain or a car wash.

He needs a wet dry vacuum cleaner, or what they call a shop vac. After spending much of my life in the Auto industry I have learned to avoid sun roofs, especially after market sunroofs, but the thought of him driving as you explained made me smile.

Your son could get pointers from the British show, Top Gear.

They are a trio of overgrown adolescents having great fun with cars.  On their African adventure, a river had to be forded... and a couple of the cars ended up with a lot of water in the bottoms.  The guide showed them how to fix that: He took his shotgun and blew a hole through the floor.
