I've heard of Tristam Shandy all my life (well in my childhood anyway)
and thought it was just some legend from the ould country my mom and grandmom used in their shorthand conversations designed to confound little pitchers' ears. And now I find your excerpt and discover he was at times a lunatic... What's bugging Ben?

My cat does this from time to time, she has many different vocalizations as well, I have learned feed me, I want to go outside, I would like to be petted now, and would you please tell me the rest of the story.
