This is every where. There is dissonance between what a person says in the moment and for it to stand the test of time.

I agree with BC - very clever.  You have always been able to put a punch in your poetry regardless of the topic.

a president can only be as good as the senate and congress allows....too many fillibusters etc....shame the politicians can't play nice...maybe they should all just go home!

I think Ralph Nader had it right when he said if you want to know how a President will lead, follow the money...So many had high hopes resting on Obama, he truly was the object of adulation. I understand the realities of politics and of the office are not ideal, but for myself that doesn't explain away or justify the continual killing of innocents with drones (no friction with Congress or the bloated military-industrial complex over doing so!) or the appointments of people who are corporate, financial elitists with only the best interests of themselves and their 1 percent-er fans in play...again, no reason for O. to do this other than it was "pay back" time...I do feel Obama was/is the better choice compared to Bush/Cheney and probably Romney, but not by much...maybe a tiny bit more than "not a dime's worth of difference."
I feel the time will come, hopefully soon, when real independent parties are viable and electable. Then change for the better can have a chance. Ah well, a girl can dream, can't she?..:)
Thank you, Dear Kabu, for your thoughtful comment!

President has been blocked so many times, why try for more. Cynicism reigns....but I look in from outside.

Ray history repeats itself as you well know. You sure can roll them out.
