We're getting some rain over here as well, but nothing substantial that may cause flooding. And I completely understand your reluctance to go to various family gatherings. My family is HUGE, and at certain functions, there are so many conversations going on at the same time you can barely hear yourself think! I love everyone in my family, but sometimes I prefer them in small doses . . .

well these get togethers are very convenient for the younger generations
but I understand feeling too tired to be sitting in a large group or groups too often ....one starts to long for their own chair and tv or computer or the exciting end to their book waiting to be read. the freedom to choose.
You are blessed with a large and loving family which is wonderful, perhaps sometimes they should pop in to see you though.

I can see why you did not want to go to the get-together. It is a busy time of the year and a lot to keep track of...I am impressed at how well you keep tabs on your family because it is so large.

I get my snack urges a bit earlier, at around 10:30, when I succumb to my addiction: cheese-flavoured popcorn, LOL...
Oh, and don't feel too guilty about missing some of those get-togethers - I'm sure you've earned the right to slack off a bit...

my daughters bday is in June and wants me to go to Out of Africa in Camp Verde about an hour from us but also about 10 degrees hoter than here so I dont want to go, she told me to make that decision the day before they go
Now if it was cooler I would love to see all the animals

I think at your time of life you should do what you like Taps. Poor Auntie got drowned visiting, not a very nice thought. Oh damn I have cooked my breakfast and forgot to put the oats in the porridge .
