Love Farmer's Markets - the best place to pick up organic foods too, as there are some who specialize in it. Sound like not only a productive Saturday, but also a nice relaxing day.

The Public Market in Seattle is one of my favorite wandering places
despite the mobs. I bought a silver ring there once, designed with two dolphins and a snake and a warm red garnet stone. The artist said the creatures symbolized female power and transformation. Best $22 I ever spent. As for the stamps, some of them do become collectible. I've got a sheet of Marilyn stamps, and one of the Buffalo Soldiers, which I've tucked away in a notebook just in case.

Maybe a stamp collector would pay above the stamp price, but at least you are turning them into good use. Be careful with that knee, do not let it get worse.

I love Farmers' Markets, but for us it's a problem getting to one! There's an irony in the fact that here, at the edge of the Greater Toronto Aera, where there are still farmers not too far away, there aren't any markets! There's a huge one close to downtown Toronto, but it's a 25-mile drive, and then you have to spend an eternity looking for parking...And I sure hope that the knee's wonkiness is just a fleeting episode...
