- Go to Time Goal

i do not time myself, if i did i would have half a post. sometimes it takes me awhile even for a short post, and then sometimes i can do it in a minute and sometimes i write a long post and then delete it. lately i have writers block, but then i realize for some reason or another i am just not doing anything or thinking very much or going anywhere.

when I start writing I start with one idea and it leads to others and so sometimes I am scattered on the page

For me, the hardest time to write my blogs is after my 12-hour work shifts.

I enjoy the challenge of starting my daily write. mostly I have no idea
what I will write until I start. Like you I try to write something different each day.

I never feel the urge to "time" myself when writing anything. As far as certain blogs are concerned, I sometimes find myself actually working backwards. Knowing how to end a blog can be just as difficult as starting one! But if you already know the conclusion, the words can sometimes flow easier back at the beginning. Yeah, I'm a little weird that way, but hey, it works for me . . .

FSI...
I find setting a time goal can be good, especially if one has umpteen other things to do...but if the coast is clear, its so much more relaxing to just wait it out and let the words come when they will..

I know what you mean FSI. It all started for me back in 1969, for some reason I picked up a pen and started to write something, I forget what now, but I remember that I lost a word and I swore to myself that I wouldn't quite writing until I found it...The search continues.

You and me both, FSI. Sometimes words just throw themselves at the page; other times they need to be dragged and coaxed and keep getting away....
