i hope you go on and explain just how costly this and alzheimers is.
and maybe some things we can do to stay mentally fit.
you will appreciate this story, the alzheimer's patient i was taking care of , her family finally wore out and put her into assisted living, within the month she had starved to death. i was shocked and was talking to another home health care worker who was a nurse and she said that is common practice, without someone to make sure they eat they stop eating and die quickly. other things also go wrong like them getting thrush because noone is there to make them brush their teeth and this leads to eating being painful and they stop eating. i imagine she was dehydrated and also must have gotten a uti from noone being there to help her clean up after using the bath room.......how sad this is what is happening in this country to our old and ill. and it is costing the familys a fortune to put them in assisted living. her family was paying about 1300 a month, for a place to go to die. in my mind assisted dying is much kinder.

I find that drinking lots of water and taking cranberry gel caps helps with my UTI.
