fresh apple cider sounds delicious

looks like a bumper crop, we do not get enough cold weather here to grow apple trees, and since we had 2 very mild  winters, my pear tree is looking puny.  enjoy

We also planted a small apple tree in our backyard a few years ago, but it's taking its "sweet" time in growing and flourishing! AND, no fruit yet! Soon, soon . . .

Lovely trees

Seems like you and LSW have a pretty good system - you certainly seem to know "your place" in the hierarchy of the home and garden

So pretty - lovely blossoms. The weather here is behind yours, it seems - my trees have just started this weekend to show flowers. I wonder if the age of the trees has anything to do with it?

There were a few apple trees in western Washington when I lived

there, and there's a big apple-growing area here in Illinois along the Mississippi - Calhoun County. Folks can go to orchards in the fall to U-pick. I like to core and slice an apple, sprinkle it with brown sugar, dash of cinnamon and a bit of butter and microwave it for about 1 minute. Baked apple yum.

Sadly like my trees too much blossom Naut. What you should do is thin out the small fruit and give the others a chance. I hate doing it but  I shouldn't think you want to climb your trees and you can shovel the apples up for cider.

how pretty we have the same here altho ours are wild apple and pear

and of course we leave them for the critters to enjoy the fruit. I had some beautiful and oh so strong cider in Sydney. Thought I was in Somerset or Devon after a couple of tankards.......

Naut

Those are absolutely beautiful. I don't have room for large trees but I bought a lot of apples last year and dehydrated them. I have been enjoying them in pies, oatmeal and other ways since. I only have abut 3 pounds left. Those trees YOU planted are beautiful.
