Re: I love homegrown veggies! If my garden doesn't fare too well, I shop
Yes I know you have a bash sometimes Ray, but I think it is pretty hot in your yard in the summer from what I remember. Some veggies like it though. Thank you

I love homegrown veggies! If my garden doesn't fare too well, I shop
at farmer's stands in the summer. No veg. or fruit in the supermarket compares. Movingly yearning poem, CCT!

Re: Pat
Yes Pat and somewhat with relief at times. A lot of energy goes into turning a maiden into a princess. I bet you do not have to put your scones out for the birds.

Re:Rumour..
Yes I think we might be talking of the kind of baking that you and I might come up with. I like cream buns you know what they are full of.

Re: Ciel
Hi Ciel I have a clematis against the south wall each year it grows well for a while and then it shrivels with mildew. I must try and fix a drip to keep it watered as I think it is too dry although it should have long roots by now. Goodness I thought all you gals were six foot blondes.

Re: Jeansaw
Hi JS I think it depends on the texture of the scone, anyway the birds love them and are taking beak fulls back to the young. I usually grow white stringless beans. Years ago I dug up some roots and stored them for the following year, but it was only to get them early for market. I don't think it was worth the trouble though. Yes she has a terrible voice usually.

Re: Naut
Hi Naut it is a job to break these old habits and most of the old dears have no transport. I am not that benevolent ,I moan about it each year, but carry on. Thank you.

I must say I admire you for giving plants to people, and they obviously appreciate it! Wine does come in handy at times,,,I have no idea what a Brassica is, but I do adore your poem - you are certainly a man of many voices...

cc
what a fun day delivering bedding plants, friendly visits and smiling faces. now you can relax with wine and write more poems.
scones, i could write a love poem about scones. i get mine from the only place i know that has them and believe it or not it is barns and nobles book store in their coffee shop. i have been known to stop for just a scone. they are either current or blueberry and are full of the berries. jam would be good, but when in england i tried clotted cream, oh my gosh!!! if i could only be a bird in your garden.
reading your posts are always a learning experience, i will have to look up sultanas and brassica.
my family do not care for the texture of frozen beans either, or do i.
from what i have witnessed, i wonder if one should wish to be 102 even if lucid.
one does wonder if love is a simple task, but then many simple things are beyond reach and it made me wonder what is that which brings a love that would be true. but me thinks that love is not just for the young, because its not over till the tall blond sings.

It may be that your tender buds would do well by the south wall
of your house, toughening up without getting too cold.
I am not tall nor blonde, but read your poem anyway.

CCT...
I think something like scones qualifies as "being full of .whatever", it has to have at least one....now, I am being a little sarcastic, but not too much anymore..
.."full" may soon lose its meaning completely.

How nice to read you today CCT, to think of green growing things
and to see that in spring the young man's lingering fancy lightly turns the older man's attention to swelling buds and endless potential.

A lot of things to consider with the gardening, I see...I know of many who first thought that love was simple before realizing that not to be the case.
