Some people have said that "tormented souls" make the best artists, or produce the most creative individuals, but I personally don't believe that's true. In one way it's a shame that you must depend on these meds to combat those "voices," but then again, I'm sure it would be much worse for you if they did not exist. Glad to hear you're doing better now . . .

Oh, how well I know all about that! Not from direct personal experience, but that of a dear relative of mine, having observed the pain, confusion, frustration and despair - and witnessing it all can be heart-rending. In that case, the meds not only helped, they have become essential, and probably life-saving! So do look after yourself - don't slip up on getting the meds on time, so that you can always lead a good life! You have so much to give...

Re:Pat,

honestly, I have learned to consider that there are options... and choices I can make about how I will react to how I feel.  Each time I "choose wisely", that's where the triumph lives!

I believe more creative people have those inner critics than not.

What I took from today's post is that you've learned to ignore yourself when "self" spouts negativity. That's a triumph.

Re: Dr JPT

A wise fellow once pointed out that explanations and excuses are BS.  Most people don't have the time or inclination to invest their time on such stuff.  Sometimes, if explanations are at least a little universal, then delving into the whys and wherefores of behaviors, of the habits of one's thought and feeling, can be of some value.  Some of us can learn from the 'learning experiences' of others.

Agreed, too, that we must look after our own well-being, in order to be acceptible company. On the other hand, "looking out for Number One" first and foremost is an expensive self-indulgence.  All we do affects someone near us, and it is fair and just to consider that.

Welcome to my blogs!

My philosophy, DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO FOR SELF! I learned it is not good to explain too much, for most do not listen. I APPLAUD YOU FOR YOUR WISDOM AND STRENGTH to do what is best for you.

Re: CCT,

That sounds like a variation on the Who's The Biggest Martyr game. Maybe there should be a reality show...   I can bet you that no one who really is in serious pain would ever go on that show.

Keeping up, better on the average than before experience taught me a few things.

Never tell anyone how you feel Ciel they will respond and make you feel your problem is inferior to theirs. My chemist said to me. 'How would you like it if we order your tablets and phone you up when they are due. So I will see how that goes. How are you keeping these days?

Re: TAPS,

And some just try to push on through... or are rolled over by the waves they can't surf.

I do wonder at what some folks think other people sitting near them can't hear or be affected by.  one of my daughters, exposed to some of those conversations, would probably pass out and slither under the table.

Human beings are all flawed creatures.  In one way or another, seen or unseen, we all have something that we are trying to deal with, correct, improve upon, with medicines, or surgeries, or therapies.  I'm afraid our dinner out yesterday turned into a hen party where everyone was talking about their health problems.  It got to be rather gross dinner conversation at times.  I hope we were not so loud that other people at tables around us could hear our talking.
