I hate to say this but, you may be one of the few left who actually feels that way. Years ago I may have had similar feelings, but today, I must admit that sometimes I feel more shame than pride. Yes, I'm still glad to be an American, but proud? After paying close attention to many of the things that have been going on over the past 30 years or so, I'm just not too sure anymore . . .

I feel that showing pride in one's nation is fine as well.
