The whole situation from every possible angle is so sad and so terrible.
I suppose it will never end.  Family influence can be insidious.

the only good coming out of this is if we learn from it and then act upon what we have learned. it will be interesting to see this entirely unfold, if it does, or if we are privileged to the information. history is sometimes not factual. the only thing we know for certain is that too many lives were lost and destroyed.

Although that younger brother may not be entirely to blame for his actions ( as you've said, his family was a big influence ) he was still a participant and should be punished either way. If he can supply the authorities with some vital information, so much the better. But I don't think even that will redeem him completely . . .

It seems there is a deal in the works for him to avoid the death penalty. I have to believe he will need to tell all that he knows to achieve this! I personally hopes he lives a long life in jail so that he has to suffer every minute of his life! Not much of an exchange for the suffering he caused but still a stiff penalty nonetheless. I believe his mother has something to do with it too! Also, female DNA was found, too! The mother is incredulous to me. If it turns out she talked jihad with her sons she is the worst mother of all time for me! sam
