I don't like it when repair guys, etc. don't have a set price per hour! It does put one in an awkward position, it might even be by design! I am lucky to have my brother and son who can help me with a lot around my house. Currently my brother and I are working on my pressure washer. While we are doing this we are learning, too! We cleaned the carburetor, changed the oil, stopped a gas leak, and now our troubleshooting is taking us down to replacing the ignition coil and hopefully it will work! We did decide we needed to buy a manual, lol! sam

They could of done it for less but would they done all that I asked for, putting the garbage disposal in was all it was suppose to be until I asked about the dishwasher.

Although he may not have been sure ahead of time how much he would have had to do, or how long it might have taken, I think he should have given you a rough idea ahead of time of how much it might have cost you. I guess the bottom line is, was the work worth the price, or could someone else have done the exact same thing for less money . . . ?

That appears to be a fair price and he is someone you know and can trust plus you know where to find him in case it does not work.

Re: lustor,
Well at $20 an hour its $80 and the reason I used the manager because he always charges less and that is the purpose he offers to do the work so its cheaper for me

I often find myself after paying for a good or service either realizing that another person or place that I did business with or come across a new person or entity that would have been less expensive.

lustor,
maybe the manager knows your handy man and ask what he gets an hour and decided to charge the same? who knows, but if you had hired your handy man he would have gotten the hundred for the work, so if you are willing to give it to one man, why not the other. i dont think 100 was expensive, you got alot done.
