I like the poem very much and I would have been pleased about the wood too - it's annoying to be taken for granted

Re:Jeansaw

Hi, JS Yes they have been at it here digging up cables. stripping lead from Church roofs even. If one put an old cooker out it would vanish within a day or so. I think the heat is off now as one is photographed selling metal. The onus is on the dealers.

Re:Annicita

Sadly A. the Inland Revenue have begun to sniff around dealers on E.bay. If one earns a couple of pounds it is deemed right to pay tax.

My heart goes out to Archie. My parents have had what I presume to be that medicine or something similiar before their colonoscopies...Each stanza jumps out at me. They all fit so well together.

well i hope it all comes out ok for archie, sounds like he got one over on his f-i-l, the early bird gets the worm if he asks.  i hope if that is what archies wife wants to do, buy and sell, that it works out for her.  one mans trash is another mans treasure they say, but dont ask who they are.  as far as your copper kettles, they would help you out here, as people are known to strip the copper out of wiring just to sell it, it goes for alot of money i hear.....one fellow told my husband that they stripped the copper out of his air conditioner, couldnt imagine that they got that much, it cost him hundreds to replace the air conditioner.

by the way, that lady sound crusty in the poem

Poor Archie! And the poem reminds me of a certain painting of a woman by Picasso - I don't know exactly why, but it suddenly came to mind! I'll need to dig it out...
