Well, I hope Archie does well with his exams and they find
naught but normal within. From your stories he seems to be a great companion. As for the spinach, I like to stir fry it with a bit of left over rice and an egg, seasoned with butter, a bit of pepper and sprinkled with parmesan. Tastes like a quiche.

Lemon juice. Butter and lemon juice.
That's the key to steamed spinach that tends to leave a skin on the teeth, otherwise.
I like to use it instead of rice or noodles, under the hot main dish, and have it as a wilted salad--sort of half-steamed, and drizzled around the main with the lemon, or a balsamic dressing.
Your poems are so full of poignancy, nostalgia, and it seems, farewell to expectations.

Shall have to try the strawberry salad Naut ,trouble is I keep eating them off the plants I must chew a bit of leaf at the same time. I used to listen to the universe, but I cannot hear it any longer.

Re: cc
A good report on spinach is exhilarating as it is very easy to grow. Perhaps you should try it when you have prepared your new garden. We have not heard much about this lately only that the condition of the soil was a bit depressing. I would not try and do too much at a time. You could always get someone to help make a raised bed with decent soil it need not be too big. They have been popular here.

yes, i too like my spinach raw, i use it instead of lettuce, but then i love it steamed too and slathered in real butter. anything is good if you have enough butter on it.
memories and music, sometimes music will bring back a memory to me. music is the language of emotions.
sounds help me with memories too, like lawnmowers, airplanes, dogs barking, screen door banging and birds singing.

Baby spinach goes awfully well with fresh strawberries and a very delicate vinaigrette...
And I like the nostalgic theme of your poem; what's more, in a way we are music, for we all vibrate as does everything, including the Universe...
