Yes, communication in general has had an amazing history, as you've described. In some cases it may have evolved too slowly. For example, everyone feels that the Civil War ended with the surrender of Lee's army to Grant in April of 1865, but because of the slow communication of the times, many battles were still fought in the west for months after the war had supposedly ended! On the other side of the coin, sometimes the news media is too swift and too diligent with their reporting and the information they divulge. If the news media of 1944 was as intrusive and overbearing as today's sometimes is, the Normandy invasion would have been a complete disaster . . .

I feel that most will eventually grasp it as well...It is amazing how much the media has evolved over the years.
