I guess we have to accept the fact that the haters are everywhere,
and that we have to be on guard. I was doing something else with the TV on in the other room when I heard the interruption and sat there stunned for the next three hours, taking breaks only as demanded by nature. I feel just as you do about it, although I never ran a marathon my kids do/did take part in competitive runs. It's heartbreaking.

I am sure waves of sadness will pass around the world today. It really does make one feel sick. We can only pray for those who suffered for no reason and at what should have been a joyful occasion. One can see by the tension in your face the effort that goes into these marathons and to think after all the preparation it ends like this. So sorry Naut.

I am so sorry with you, too! On the local news tonight they have a hot line going to determine how many Idahoans are in the marathon and if all are okay. This weekend there is a half marathon up the mountain to Robi creek! Naturally everyone is worried because it's the biggest race of the year in Idaho! Personally I am staying home this weekend and worry about my friends in the race! I hope it will all be for nothing, too! Such a senseless tragedy! And they targeted the ones who run it for pleasure, so utterly sad. sam
