Especially with my daughter working for the Human Society,

it's great to hear successful rescue stories. Like this one, sometimes the rescue goes both ways.

A lovely blog Pat. I am so glad that your son found a way of beating depression. It was one of the nicest ways possible. It is a fact that we are wired to do extraordinary things if we have to, but there is always a price to pay. I sincerely hope your son will keep fit and happy with his new friend.

I have a friend who was ( is ) in a similar situation. He gets very depressed from time to time, work is a hassle, and life seems to beat him down at every turn. The one thing that really gets him through is coming home to his miniature pincher each evening! Animals have that effect on people! I'm glad Kaylee's presence has done that for your son . . .

Pat

This post 'made my day'! That your son's good deed in adopting a rescue dog brought its own reward by 'rescuing' him from his depression is absolutely wonderful! And I know what it means: although I didn't exactly need 'rescuing', my own rescue doggie Ben continues to give me so much joy that I also feel richly rewarded...
