I use to get calls like that from my daughter too and now when she calls me I expect a problem as we usually text.

Actually, I'm quite surprised that your phone would still be on at 3:30 in the morning! I always turn my phone off as soon as I am home in the evenings! Anyone wanting to reach me will just have to call the house phone ( remember those? ) Believe it or not, I've only texted someone once in my whole life, and it was a response to their text wishing me a Happy Birthday! I'd rather talk to the person than make them read my messages . . .

Yes try and get that L ladder back Sam. People get very forgetful when they Borrow things I have ladder here that someone lent me 30 years ago and I am afraid to climb it now in case it is full of wood worm. The owner consistently refused to have it back as he did not on his say so, have room to store it. I usually turn my answerphone off at night, you are very tolerant.

we turn down the landline at night and people can leave a message
no one calls us anyway...LOL...don't use cell phones cos we are always together...well I do have one for when I am in Australia.
