Political conversations are almost always dangerous, especially when talking to someone from another country. The bottom line is, and always has been, there is good and bad everywhere, from every walk of life! That, and there's no point in arguing over such points, because there will never, ever be a clear-cut answer to all of this! It's probably a good thing you changed the subject and brought up his new car . . .

You could have come up with some of the big religious wars in England Naut.
I doubt most of the population really cared what they were fighting for .
The poor have always been more interested in the next meal. some things do not change.
