Nah, relax. It's only April! Something will get done! Have you considered investing in a goat? They're easy to maintain, will leisurely devour all your grass and leaves no questions asked, and may even give you some milk and cheese in the end. Think about it . . .

You need a neighbor like my Son #2. When he gets his riding mower out, he does his acre and then he does the yards of the neighbors on each side of him. When his neighbors have trees/limbs that fall he just goes and gets his chain saw and cuts them up. When I ask him why he does that he just says they are getting old and can't do it anymore and don't have the money to pay for it.

Come on Pat, if that is all you have to worry about, you could always get a goat.

Pat...
It sounds like your son means well, but it might be good to have a backup plan ready, just in case...which reminds me I need to check with our lawn man and make absolutely certain he will be doing the cutting again this year..

Re: its good to have sons with ...
Here's the thing. My son has offered to take care of things before - like the handrail I said I wanted when I moved into this house in 2004. In 2011 I finally hired Mr. Handyman to install the handrail along with porch railings. Don't think the lawn can wait seven weeks, let alone seven years. Looking for Angie's list.

You lucky duck - it's good to have sons with selfpropelled lawnmowers! And your lawn has grown two inches? Mine shrank back into the ground when it was snowed upon this morning...
