Naut
Sounds really good. I live in a small town and I would use Rice Vinigar instead of Mirin. Anything in the world would be good with avocado and melon. I'll try this.

YSo I look forward to your visit to make your salad in Mrs. Sun’s kitchen and stay over and have pancakes with the maple syrup that you’ll bring Naut. Lol. BC-A, Bill’s R®st

There isn't one ingredient in that recipe that I don't like. I'm defintely going to try it....if the airplane gets me back here safe and sound.

Mirin and Gari are foreign to me. I have never used any, tasted any (that I know of), and of course don't have any. The salad sounds wonderful and I know I would like it even without those two things, but I hate to ruin your original recipe. I do have ginger root that I grate or chop into things, but I'm going to have to google mirin.

darn right, everything but the cilantro goes in the bowl.
The cilantro, in my version of the recipe, goes out the window, over the fence and far away!
Did you know there is a cilantro-hatred gene? True! And a lot of people have it.

I'll have to admit, that sounds like something my wife might enjoy, but the peppers and avocado might not sit well with me! And I never fling food around! Perhaps a few lobs here and there, but never a fling . . .

Naut sounds great, but not the red peppers, I grew peppers last year and my brother insists we eat them from frozen whenever he makes a stir-fry. I don't really like the flavour, so I will leave those other side of my plate thank you.
