Good post. I have a tender heart for the homeless. Both of my sons in Kansas City are an easy touch when they see someone in need.

How easy it is for people to judge when they have never been burdened with some of their conditions. There should be facilities for them to live in and do something, even if it is something part time and simple.

It is a shame that there are so many of them out there...My heart goes out to them.

We have so many panhandlers in my town it's tough to discern who is in real need! A new scheme seems to pop up weekly! sam

I am sorry you see so much of that now. It is always difficult to see that poverty and not be able to fix all the cases we run into. But we simply cannot do what we expect our governments to do. We cannot solve the drug importation that infest our countries, we can only help a little here and there.

i cannot stand to see people here in the Winter sleeping in the street
yet what to do. Money? they will buy drugs or drink or both...if you offer them food they will very often refuse...although most will accept a mug of coffee with milk and sugar.
new clothes, they sell them or they are stolen. Perhaps working at a soup kitchen or meals on wheels or something like that would be the best help.

I also feel for the kids. There are many adults now, who grew up in cars.
I know someone who remained homeless for years, one of the most successful people I've known, at getting what he wants most: freedom from responsibility of any kind. I have heard that maybe, recently, he has gotten a roof over him, at age 69. I hope it's true.
In fact, I tried to help him, over and over, and he would always find a reason to not be helped.
