I think it's quite normal that we forget a lot of things that are not terribly important to us at the time - I think it's a way to make space available for remembering the important stuff - whatever it was that was important to us...

Well kiddo I can really identify with your post, my memory is the pits now too. If cops wanted to question me they'd have to hold me for a week to think. LOL

Post-its can accomplish the same thing! I think a lot of people have difficulty answering questions quickly while under pressure. I think I can remember what I did four days ago, but four weeks ago, that may be another story!

It's funny tht you write this now, because I actually started keeping a journal a few weeks ago, and it helps me to rememeber, and also to put things in true perspective. We all put a shine on things when we rememebr them, whether that's a good shine or a bad shine. Reading what you wrote when you were feeling whatever you were feeling helps to rememebr more realistically then to just flash back through memories. Another thought that this post inspired in me was something that our training manager said that really resonated with me. Her angle was customers experiences, but the statement was that every memory we have is either good or bad. There is really no in between, because hum-drum memories don't stick with us. Even being bored becomes a bad memory, not an in-between one.

Just don't forget there's Google. You could look up the
program and follow threads to learn that Jayne Mansfield's daughter is Mariska Hargitay. I have no idea why I remember her name, except that I was interested in her family history years back and the name stuck with me. Jayne was not considered a serious actress, but the fact that her daughter is makes me think there was more to her than glamour and glitz.
