Sounds nice, and will be looking for pictures too.
Just the thought of no mosquitos ...I didn't know places like that existed!

Re: Re: Kabu,
where you are living sounds nearly like the perfect place. I havealways had to deal with mosquitoes ...but the black flies are something else. Thank goodness they only last here for a couple of weeks.

Re: Kabu,
I'll still have that view from the living room window, and I can peer between the vines, too.
I was up that way years ago, and I remember those hellish blackflies! CoSprings doesn't even have hardly any mosquitos, one of the best things about it.

Re: Pat,
I'm pretty lazy--I want a garden I only have to water every day or two.
I saw some Kentucky Wonders... and some that have blue flowers, some pink.

I too like view but some privacy and your idea sound just lovely.
Because the Summer here is a nightmare of ferocious mosquitoes, wasps, black fies that bite...and deer flis we put up the screen Porch a few years ago. It is wonderful. Private, safe from being bitten yet we can watch the end of the deck where I plant flowers and looking out towards dear Adnorhs hills.

Sounds like a nice, neighborly way to create a screen...
I used to raise a kind of pole bean called Kentucky Wonders, and set up a kind of teepee in my garden. The beans wound up the pole and produced as much as a family of six could use. At the base I planted cucumbers, and those vines also climbed a bit. It was a nice summer. The boys played Little League ball, I was busy as a one-armed paper hanger, and sometimes there was a red Cardinal flirting around, singing to his mate.

I've never heard of scarlet runner beans. Your deck plans sound wonderful.
