Re: TAPS,

I try to get things packed in several lighter bags, rather than one heavy one, never all the soup cans in the same one!

Great post.  I really dislike carrying the weekly bags of groceries up the stairs (and only eight of them).  It is much more fun to freely move up the stairs without carrying anything.

Re: JimmyA,

I've tried being vegetarian, but it just has never caught on with me.  I did discover, though, that eating a vegetarian meal made the vegies taste so good! I got to wondering if meat discourages our tastebuds.

Re: Kabu,

Don't forget the carbs... the good ones, the chewey ones--They are necessary for brain function!

So... to start off, I keep the good carbs to 35 grams per day.  That's just for the kick-start effect, later on, when maintaining, I have more.  In fact, I am lazy, and I don't like regimentation, so I don't count, I just keep it feeling reasonable.

All the rest of you plan sounds ideal!  Good luck!

I heard a long time ago that the best exercise for losing weight is to simply shake your head back and forth when offered seconds! Me, I took a slightly different route . . . I married a vegetarian! Lotsa fruits and vegetables, low carb, high fiber, lotsa nuts and berries, and very, very little red meat ( for me ). Vegetarian hot dogs, vegetarian chicken, vegetarian burgers . . . and in the ten years we've been married, I've lost almost 50 pounds! Not bad, huh?

Wow! 60 lbs off is quite an achievement! I'm lucky in that I don't retain excess water, but I do need to shed another 10 - 15 lbs. But with the start I have made, and summer ahead (maybe, LOL), it should be possible. Of course, maybe I should challenge Wiley to a contest to see who can lose more in specified time - mano a mano, and the loser has to buy a bottle of scotch...

Your post has inspired me more than anything I believe. I need to lose that

15lbs at least, 20. would be better. I think I must get Turkey chicken and fish along with green vegetables carrots and berries and apples and work hard for at least a week...just to see if i can shift some of this load. Thank you for inspiring me.
