Re: Re: Kabu
I do understand ...here they live along the river or in the wet lands back behind us and I don't have to worry about the poop which everyone seems to sigh over.

I wonder why they don't migrate? I thought that instinct was a birthright. I"m going to google that for more info. Wish Jimmy hadn't made that comment about airplanes, seeing that this is the season for geese and I'll already be trembling as I board that plane for my long trip.....

The only animals in Maryland that we have to worry about crossing the road are deer...Whenever I see a bunch of birds together, I think of the film as well.

Actually, you should be grateful that they're still up there crossing the roads and not in flight near any of our airports! Many planes have been downed because of flocks of Canadian geese getting caught up in the engines! The airports are now going through great lengths to rid the runways and neighboring fields of these birds, and some of the methods aren't exactly pretty . . .

They are living in this area too, especially around ponds and lakes.
I've wondered for years why they don't end up roasting over the fires of homeless campers - there's quite a lot of meat on those bones.

Re: Kabu
Actually, I realize I'm being petty. I do like the flights in "V" formation over my abode with the sound of honking as they go. They are God's creation in this place and at this time. Soon they will be laying their eggs in their nests along the lakes, and little fluffy yellow ones will emerge and follow behind their mothers. That's very fun to watch. It's just that, at times, their numbers are overwhelming, and their poop disgusting. Their numbers have really doubled and trippled since we moved here eight years ago.
