I did not know that there were that many jihads that were carried out. That drives the seriousness of the problem all the more home.

When it comes to the world of international espionage and global terror, it is so much easier to read one of the current novels on the same subject as you write about than it is to read about facts and figures and truths.  From the Middle East to the capitals of Europe, to the US and the fate of the free world on the line, it must be pretty much the same, but with a novel, you are pretty much assured that it is going to turn out the way that you want it to.  That makes a difference.  I like knowing that things are going to turn out well (at least for some).  I just finished the latest Andrew Kaplan book, and yes, he did "save the world"....this time.

Terrifying numbers! The thing is, why would anyone want the Muslim way of life? As far as one can tell, only a priveleged few are even allowed sufficient basic needs. A body needs regular food and water; stomachs don't digest religion very well. And many of the younger generation get involved in terrorism because they lose hope living in a constant rut of poverty - is that not so?
