I think it is wonderful that you grow plants for others but I can appreciate that it can become to much too!

i helped my husband put up a greenhouse, as my son wanted to grow herbs, the job half done because we have no water in it.  and my sons wife got him busy adding onto their home, so it is being used for storage right now.  kinda a waste, but maybe not forever.

Well Kabu it is nice to have Archie to do the heavy work, progress is rapid and thanks to my kind relative from Canada innovations are in progress. Just sloshing through wet ground two days of rain I need a good supply of toothbrushes to keep my corners spotless.

Re:Pat

Well don't we just love that. it always seems such a grind to rewrite a comment.

Yes they love it when I appear with their bedding plants Pat. The lady who takes the Hospital plants always gives me feed back . She says she growing flowers are really therapeutic to the younger ones.

Re: CTT

Thank you Naut. I have actually got some old type carnations the type that Noel Coward always wore as a buttonhole they did not do much last year, but I took some slips and they might do better this year. Your tune stirs vague memories. the song I remember most has the words 'Those dear hearts and gentle people, who live and love in my home town,' I heard it from a barrack room window on my first weekend as a conscript with a shaved head.

Re: Wiley

I suppose when we were young Wiley we had land and it was the way to make a few shillings, as boys we grew hundreds of Winter Lettuce, nothing touched them, today the birds would rip them apart something has changed.

Re: Taps

Come now Taps I think you would have good Land Army Girl. I notice they are getting recognition for their part in a vital service over here. Not many left though.

I love the poem.
And, on the above writing, I really respect you for all the work that you do.  Wow!  When I retired, I retired.  LOL

Amazing gardening that you do, I envy your ability because I never did a lot of that. The poetry was very special for me Bro.

CTT

For whatever reason your carnations remind me of a very ancient tune, 'A White Sport Coat and a Pink Carnation'...LOL; and I too admire you for giving the old folks some pleasure...And as to your poem? It's masterfully concise and yet complex, striking chords of resignation and regret, and yet smiling at a beautiful memory...

Well, I left a very grateful comment about your ways of being such

a good neighbor, sharing your talents and keeping busy, but I hit the wrong key and it disappeared, so I'm telling you again - I know your friends appreciate your expertise with the flowers and how you share your wit and talent with them.

Divorce is the pits....those carnation cuttings look healthy...and you

growl about all you do but I know that you are a paper tiger and enjoy the garden the most of any of your many talents.
