Nope - Wiley is right. As long as it's capped, beer is good for a long, long time. Unless, of course, you leave it sitting in the sun. The joke was so funny!! But it got me thinking - do you think I could walk to Japan that way??

I've never had that problem, LOL. But you reminded me - I gotta get myself some Guinness for tomorra! The pub is probably out - too much fuzz on the road, and I'm too cheap to pay for a cab...

Our corned beef is almost gone. I bought it three days early, cooked it immediately and we have been eating Reuben's ever since. I'm thinking about going out this afternoon and buying another brisket while they are available.

Well I used to keep Guinness in an old shed it nearly grew mushrooms on the bottles, but we never tossed it away. I used to serve pub and my Dad always bought three or four bottles.
When he died I felt obliged to do the same but I did not feel like drinking it on cold days.I think it was stronger in those days.

Cute! And you should never worry about the scourge of political correctness! You obviously weren't trying to be derogatorial, so have some fun and write what you want!
And I'm not sure what kind of lifespan beer may have, but I think as long as you don't allow it to reach room temperature and then recool it, you should be okay for quite a while!

If the beer is bad
for just drinking, it will mix marvelously well with cheese (you might need a double boiler to get it right) to make a sauce for Welsh rarebit (or rabbit, as some call it). It also flavors a stew very nicely, like a good Irish stew, as opposed to simply getting stewed.
